Terminal window not visible when connected to remote computer due to disabled.
Cause:
The 'Bring up terminal window after dialing' option is not enabled. This option is not selected by default.
Solution:
Select 'Bring up terminal window after dialing' in the 'Options' dialog box for the connection.
1) Double-click the 'My Computer' icon. (The 'My Computer' window appears.)

2) Double-click 'Dial-Up Networking'. (The 'Dial-Up Networking' window appears.)

3) Right-click the desired connection to display the pop-up menu, and select 'Properties'.
4) Click 'Configure...'. (The '<Modem> Properties' window appears, where <Modem> is the current modem type.)
5) Click the 'Options' tab.
6) Select the 'Bring up terminal window after dialing' check box.
7) Click 'OK'.
